A Year Ago Today

I was wishing you all a Happy St. David's Day. Now I'm doing it again. Happy St. David's Day! This is one holiday that happens every year, but nobody knows about it--unless they're Welsh. Or me. Or know me.

The photo is courtesy of my Dad, though I can't tell if he took it or got it from somewhere else.

Qixuan, thanks for visiting and saying hi! I'm a writer and, currently, a Starbucks employee. I'm not sure if my book will be published in Singapore or not--I don't really know how all that stuff works. But I'm sure you could get a copy on-line when it comes out in May . . .

Mom--I figured. It's good! ;)

Happy St. David's Day to you too! Why St. David's Day in particular?

Rhonda--thank you! You wouldn't have some Welsh blood in there somewhere, would you? "Rhonda" being a Welsh name and everything . . . ?

Ini--back when I was a kid I fell in love with Welsh mythology as doctored up by Lloyd Alexander, and then with Welsh culture as a whole. When I was in high school one of my friends' dads taught me a little Welsh (he was a Welsh minister who had moved to this country) and about St. David's Day. It kind of went well with my already established fixation, and plus there are a lot of Davids in my family, and plus I love daffodils, and plus I like obscure holidays that the majority of people don't celebrate. So I try to acknowledge it every year.
