ISBN

I was initially a little disappointed to discover that my editor's warning was correct: they changed my book cover. (I'm not sure specifically who "they" are, which is probably as it should be.) I liked the original cover so much. But the current one is probably truer to the contents of the book--in spite of the fact that no one in the book takes an airplane.

Anyway, I discovered the cover change because I decided to search myself on the CFP website and, for the first time, there I was! Books are still not orderable, but look, I have an ISBN number.

I have to tell you--I wasn't a fan of the first cover, but I really, really like this one. Although, I agree, it would probably be a little better if the shadow looked a little more human and a little less mechanical.

Heather--well that's cool. It's also good to know we're not total clones of each other . . . I was starting to wonder . . . ;)

I think the airplane is alluding to the ideas of "international" and "travel" and "refugee," but the fact is that the refugees in the story didn't fly.

I'm with Heather: I really like this cover, too. And I didn't realize that was supposed to be an airplane. I thought it was the shadow of a human stretching out their arms, in place of the tree trunk.

Christianne--I'm pretty sure it isn't, but that's a cool and ironic take, the significance of which you will understand all the more if you read (and finish) the book.

I don't know, I kind of liked the BIG FACE with the EYE on the cover.

i'd like this one better if it looked like something. or like a better version of airplane/person-with-arms-up.

as it is, it looks like a model airplane.

but, hey, your ready to be published! you go, gurl!

That's strange. Exactly how does this happen? Is it a digital book?

cmh--thanks

LL--I'm not sure what you're asking. The book is not in print yet, so I guess they're still playing around with the cover.

And . . . this is just in: according to my sources/editor, the airplane is coming off.
