OtR

Thanks to jasdye, I now know that Over the Rhine has a new CD coming out this month. I also now know that I really like it; they're streaming it on their site right now. Tracks 1 and 5 are my favourites; # 5 (entitled "Trumpet Child," just like the album) kind of gives me the chills.

Just had to let you all know.

HEY! I followed the link to check it out and they sound great! I am preordering a copy of the album. I have heard of Over The Rhine, but I don't recall ever actually hearing them.

Great songs and I really like all the slide guitar.

Thanks, Jenn.

Yay! A convert! (If only real evangelism were so easy . . . )

Glad you liked it, too. I'm really excited for it to finally come out--though I'll probably wait to get it until I can ask for it for Christmas. ;) Meanwhile, I'll listen to it as background music for my on-line activities for as long as possible.

I had gotten a little bored with OTR because it felt like they had repeated the same formula over again. This new ablum has made me change my mind.

Hey Jen -

We're big fans of OTR here (I proposed to my wife at a show back in 97).

I think my new fav off the release is Don't wait for Tom.

Pete--welcome! That's a great story. And yeah, DWFT is a really good song, too. Brilliant lyrics . . .

We have tickets to see OTR here in a few weeks and I am so excited! We've never seen them in concert. I also didn't know their new album was that close to being released. Hooray!

Jenn--lucky you. Have fun! I haven't ever been to one of their concerts either, but maybe I can convince someone to go w/me to see their show in Boston in September or whenever it is.
