It's Official

This just in, from a highly(?) reliable(?) on-line quiz source:

You Belong in the UK

A little proper, a little saucy. You're so witty and charming...No one notices your curry breath.

If you decide to take this quiz yourself, let it be known that actually, I never have wanted to get wasted (and therefore have never done so) and also that some of the language on this quiz is PG-13. (Kind of makes you want to check it out, doesn't it?)

Well, here's my excuse to ask, since I've been wondering for a while: Are you British? I occasionally note the British spellings of words like neighbour, but maybe you're just really literate. Or maybe you're from another part of the British Empire. Just curious, eh wot.

I got US.

But then, I also couldn't answer most of the questions at all.

So I suppose the country I belong in does not exist.

I suppose I am properly saucy. And I definitely love curry. Of course, I celebrate the fourth of July, which could be a problem.

Zimmer-man--no no. I am not British. (If I were, I would probably not make such a big deal about belonging there. Or . . . maybe I would.) But when I was in junior high I decided British spellings were cooler. (This caused a bit of a ruckus with some of my teachers.) And then I lived in England for five and a half years, legitimising the spellings.

YCM--Either that, or you're a citizen of Someplace Else. ;)

LL--When I lived in the UK, most of my friends liked to celebrate 4 July with me. Maybe they were celebrating the good riddance of being responsible for people like us . . .
